Marshalltown man wanted for fleeing law enforcement Sunday

A Marshalltown man with active warrants for his arrest is wanted and on the loose after allegedly fleeing from an officer who attempted to make contact with him outside of the Lincoln Way Casey’s on Sunday.

According to Marshalltown Police Department (MPD) Lt. AJ Accola, a Flock camera hit on the license plate for a vehicle operated by 21-year-old Zackery Grady showed that he was wanted. An officer initiated a conversation with him outside of Casey’s, but as the officer began to ask for more information, Grady and his passenger fled.

Accola said the two made it to a cornfield on the edge of the city limits near Highland Acres Road and were able to elude being captured despite a large law enforcement presence in the area and a drone being employed. With the charges from Sunday added, Grady is now wanted for eluding, assault on persons in certain occupations, interference, driving while barred, possession of a controlled substance and probation violation.
