These photos captured by Justin Brown on Monday morning and shared with the T-R show the aftermath of the train derailment near the intersection of Quarry Road and 230th Street between Marshalltown and Le Grand on Sunday evening. Sheriff Joel Phillips reported that over 30 cars, all carrying coal, derailed, but there were no injuries or hazardous material concerns. Although cleanup and repair crews were hard at work at the site, a Union Pacific representative could not be reached for an immediate update on the progress Monday evening.
