T-R PHOTOS BY ROBERT MAHARRY AND STEVE BRANT
The Iowa State University Army ROTC cadets continued a longstanding tradition with the running of the Cy-Hawk game ball from Ames to Iowa City on Friday, running through Marshalltown at about 10:30 a.m. before pressing on to Tama-Toledo and handing the ball to the University of Iowa ROTC cadets. In the photos above, they are pictured running along 13th Street near the entrance to the Iowa Veterans Home, and they then stopped at IVH to meet with residents and staff -- some Hawkeye fans and some Cyclones -- before posing for a large group photo and heading toward their next stop. Finally, the two groups of Cadets made several joint stops in Tama-Toledo -- the halfway point between Iowa City and Ames -- before the Hawkeye runners took over.
