On Friday morning, Marshalltown Central Business District (MCBD) Executive Director Danielle Lekin proudly passed along a $1,350 check to Marshall County Veterans Affairs on behalf of her organization. This donation represents a portion of the proceeds from the military banner fundraiser, which ran from November through April.

“Thanks to the City of Marshalltown, the banners honoring local service members were installed this week — just in time for Memorial Day — and will remain on display through Veterans Day. We are incredibly honored to be part of this ongoing partnership, providing a visible and actionable way for our community to show support for our veterans,” Lekin said.

As Marshall County VA Director Kevin Huseboe said, “Every little bit helps.”

“We wholeheartedly agree and are grateful to everyone who contributed to this initiative,” Lekin added.
