Sheriff’s office investigating collision between vehicle, side by side UTV

STATE CENTER — The driver of a side by side UTV was transported to a Des Moines area hospital with serious injuries after a collision with a car northwest of State Center on Wednesday afternoon.
At 3:40 p.m., the Marshall County Communications Center received a 911 call about a crash with injuries involving an SUV and a UTV in the 1000 mile of 190th Street, according to a press release from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office. When emergency responders arrived on scene, they located the driver of a Polaris Ranger utility vehicle who was seriously injured.
The driver of the UTV was transported from the scene to a Des Moines area hospital by air ambulance. The occupants of the Ford SUV involved were uninjured.
The roadway was closed for nearly three hours for the crash investigation. Names have not been released at this time pending notification of family members. The crash is under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
Marshall County Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Iowa State Patrol, State Center Fire and EMS, State Center Police, and UnityPoint ambulance.
