Special Olympics Iowa fundraiser held at Lenihan Friday afternoon

T-R PHOTOS BY ROBERT MAHARRY — Amy Snyder and a visitor from another planet (Lisa Niehouse) had an out of this world experience diving into the cold tub on Friday.
Matt Butler dressed in Chicago Cubs attire for his plunge and even brought along a baseball bat as a prop.
Casey Moberly made one of the most pronounced splashes of the afternoon and achieved perfect form with her cannonball jump.
MCSD Superintendent Theron Schutte was the first plunger of the day and got the crowd excited with his chilly descent into the water.
Students cheered on the plungers and even brought some signs of support for the MCSD Special Olympians.

Relatively cold May temperatures didn’t stop a large group of Marshalltown Community School District (MCSD) students, staff and Special Olympics Iowa representatives from gathering outside of Lenihan Intermediate School on Friday afternoon and watching their peers dive into a pool of frigid water provided by the Marshalltown Fire Department (MFD). The Polar Plunge was part of a fundraising drive for MCSD Special Olympics students.

Starting at $4.38/week.
