Accura HealthCare announces new memory care services In Marshalltown
Accura HealthCare recently announced an upcoming care service enhancement at Accura HealthCare of Marshalltown: the transformation of a portion of the community into a secure memory care unit to be known as Traditions Memory Care at Accura HealthCare of Marshalltown.
The new unit will offer specialized Alzheimer’s and Dementia care utilizing the most innovative memory care services and best practice approaches. Traditions Memory Care will feature up to 32 beds, including 16 private rooms and 8 semiprivate rooms. Thoughtfully designed spaces will support resident engagement and wellbeing, with dedicated areas for specialized programs and interior features that encourage safe interaction, social connection and meaningful daily routines. Additional enhancements include an updated, fenced-in courtyard, expanded activities space, dining improvements and more.
“Traditions Memory Care reflects our commitment to exceptional, compassionate care for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia diagnoses,” said Ted LeNeave, CEO of Accura HealthCare. “From the secured design and specialized programming to the welcoming environment, this renovation will help residents thrive while providing peace of mind for families.”
The project is on track for an early October opening. Traditions Memory Care is now accepting referrals and are on a waitlist basis. During and after this transition, Accura HealthCare of Marshalltown will continue to serve its long-term residents and will maintain short-term rehabilitation services, respite care and hospice care. Importantly, no current residents will be discharged as a result of this adjustment in services; the changes are designed to expand and enhance care options within the community.
“We are grateful for the continued support of our residents, families, staff and partners as we transition into providing such highly sought after services in this area,” said Dzenan Karic, executive director of Accura HealthCare of Marshalltown. “These improvements will allow us to deliver an even higher standard of care while keeping the community our residents call home.”
