GMG welcomes eight new educators

GARWIN — The GMG School District welcomed eight new educators for the 2025-26 school year across both its elementary and secondary campuses.
New teachers include sixth grade language arts teacher Callie Adkins, elementary school counselor Alexis Broome, secondary social studies teacher Courtland Ellis, secondary school counselor Gabriella Guthrie, secondary social studies teacher Hannah Homeyer, grades 4-6 special education teacher Monica Kruse, elementary/secondary PE teacher Parker Newcomb, and fourth grade teacher Kylee Thompson.
Broome, Homeyer, and Newcomb are all new teachers holding initial licenses, while Adkins previously taught at Mid-Prairie West Elementary in Wellman and Ellis most recently taught at Winterset High School.
Kruse is also an experienced teacher holding a Master Educator License.
Guthrie, the new secondary counselor, holds a temporary Class G Counseling license specifically for those completing a school counseling practicum.
Thompson’s previous experience includes working as a paraeducator for the Anamosa Community School District.
