Going on a joy ride

T-R PHOTOS BY LANA BRADSTREAM — Crowds of people walk along Church Street, admiring the classic cars and motorcycles parked on both sides of the street. Within 30 minutes of the start, there were 36 entries, and more expected.

Marshalltownians flocked downtown for the annual Oktemberfest Classic Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show. Even though the show was on a new street this year — Church instead of Main — vehicle and motorcycle owners still brought their carefully restored classics. One of the show’s organizers, Alejandro Garcia, said the new location might have impacted the number of entries. However, only 20 minutes from the start of the show, car enthusiasts were still driving down Church to enter.

Starting at $4.38/week.
