Lennox announces more layoffs at Marshalltown plant effective Sept. 28
Lennox Industries has announced that 49 employees will be laid off at the company’s Marshalltown plant effective Sept. 28, just over a month after a previous round of layoffs was announced.
The information was posted on the Iowa Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) website, and the previous number of layoffs from the Aug. 1 announcement, which was originally tallied at 62, has been revised down to 22.
“Lennox continuously adjusts production needs and staffing to align with business needs and current market conditions. Based on this assessment, we’ve made the difficult decision to reduce our workforce at our Marshalltown facility,” Lennox Corporate Communications Director Allison Cohen said. “The initial WARN notice filed on June 30 was amended to reflect 22 impacted employees as of August 1. The most recent filing indicates an additional reduction of 49 employees, effective September 28.”
