Marshalltown man charged with felony meth possession after Drug Task Force serves warrant

Investigators with the Mid Iowa Drug Task Force served a narcotics warrant and arrested a Marshalltown man for felony possession of methamphetamine on Wednesday.

According to a press release, the warrant was served at 401 Park St. as part of an ongoing drug investigation. The suspect, 27-year-old Jose Jesus Morales-Garcia of Marshalltown, was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to deliver, a Class B felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia after authorities seized 15 grams of suspected methamphetamine and various items of drug-related paraphernalia along with evidence of drug use and distribution.

The Mid Iowa Drug Task Force executed the search warrant with assistance from the Marshalltown Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office K9, and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement. As of Wednesday afternoon, Morales-Garcia was being held in the Marshall County Jail without bond.
