New fall tradition continues with Rocking the Ranch

T-R PHOTO BY ADAM SODDERS The show goes on after windy conditions forced The Juan & Only performance to move inside Rocking the Ranch on Saturday evening.

With a setlist featuring songs from the likes of Kenny Chesney, Eminem, Jim Croce and more, Wolfe Ranch of Quakerdale was a warm spot on a cool Saturday night.

Waukee-based one-man cover band The Juan & Only provided the ambiance for this fall’s “Rocking the Ranch” event –Wolfe Ranch’s second annual fall concert fundraiser.

Wolfe Ranch Executive Director Beth Andrew said providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere is her organization’s goal for therapy patients, too.

“We know bringing animals and people together heals.” she said. “Healing and growth are the point.”

Andrew said the Ranch’s specially-trained horses and staff provide such a healing environment. And that environment — from facility maintenance to animal care to therapeutic programming — is what Saturday evening’s proceeds will be used to support.

“We love to serve children, individuals, and families,” Andrew said. “We’re also proud to be able to host family-friendly events like this, to encourage community.”

Starting at $4.38/week.
