The State Leadership Development Conference was held on Nov. 4, bringing together 1,500 students from across Iowa to improve leadership skills, connect with peers and elect the next State Career Officers.

GMG proudly sent its senior Career Association members: Henry, Drayson, Jocie, Gracelyn, Kami, Liam, Colton and Payton to participate. Three juniors, Brooke, Brynn and Summer, attended to lead a student-led t-shirt fundraiser, demonstrating entrepreneurship and teamwork.

Lexi and Gracelyn, past and current state officers, each led workshops, sharing their knowledge and inspiring other students. Both Gracie and Tavin advanced to the final eight candidates for State Career Officer positions, an achievement that required success through multiple rounds of intense selection.

GMG announces that Tavin was elected as one of the four State Career Officers. This marks the third consecutive year GMG has had a student serve as a state officer, a testament to the dedication, leadership and perseverance of its students.
