Three Marshalltown residents charged with robbery after alleged assault

Three Marshalltown residents were arrested on Saturday after a victim reported being assaulted with a handgun and ended up in the emergency room.
At approximately 4:10 a.m., officers from the Marshalltown Police Department were dispatched to the UnityPoint Health Emergency Room for an assault victim who was suffering from a head wound. According to a press release from the MPD, the victim reported that they had been assaulted with a handgun at a residence in Marshalltown. Officers and Investigators interviewed the victim and other witnesses relating to the incident, and a suspect and accomplices were identified.
All three were located at a residence where the suspect is known to reside, and a search warrant was executed at the home in the 500 block of North 3rd Street. Evidence relating to the incident was located during the execution of the warrant.
Ultimately, three Marshalltown residents, all 21 years of age, were arrested. Joshua Matthew Portales Jr and Juliet Arabella Fernandez were charged with first degree robbery (a Class B felony), willful injury, assault while participating in a felony and going armed with intent (all Class D felonies), assault with a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor, two counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of a schedule I controlled substance (both serious misdemeanors) and possession of drug paraphernalia and fifth degree theft (both simple misdemeanors).
Ethan Michael Garrett was charged with first degree robbery, a Class B felony, willful injury, assault while participating in a felony, going armed with intent and possession of a schedule II controlled substance third offense, all Class D felonies, assault with a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor and fifth degree theft, a simple misdemeanor.

All three suspects are being held in the Marshall County Jail without bond.
