Family displaced after house fire in Albion
ALBION — The Albion Fire Department responded to a structure fire at approximately 3 p.m. on Monday on the central east side of the Marshall County community, resulting in the displacement of a family from their residence.
According to a press release from the Albion Fire Department, crews found a single family two story residence with moderate smoke coming from the attic and eave, and everyone had already safely evacuated from the structure.
“Firefighters initiated an aggressive external fire attack to knock the fire back. While conducting a primary search for fire within the structure, overhaul was completed to access and extinguish fire in the walls and ceilings,” the release reads.
The fire was brought under control at 5:30 p.m., and work was completed by 7 p.m. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced individuals, and Liscomb Fire and EMS, Clemons Fire, State Center Fire, Alliant Energy and Marshall County Emergency Management all assisted in the response along with the American Red Cross.
The release indicated that more information will be shared later about helping the displaced family.
