The Marshalltown Area United Way (MAUW) has officially closed its 2025/2026 annual campaign, finishing at $855,185, equaling 95% of the $900,000 goal as of 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 6. The strong result reflects the generosity, resilience, and collective commitment of donors, volunteers, businesses, and community partners throughout Marshall County.

“As co-chairs of this year’s United Way campaign, Robert (Maharry) and I extend our sincere appreciation,” said Maria Gonzalez-Alvarez, 2025/2026 Campaign Co-Chair. “The campaign ended at 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 6 at exactly 95% of our goal, and that reflects incredible generosity. Your contributions directly strengthen essential services and benefit families across our community. Thank you to all who donated and participated. Your partnership truly makes a difference.”

Funds raised during the campaign will support 30 critical programs focused on youth opportunity, healthy communities, financial stability, and community resiliency. Through its network of partner agencies, Marshalltown Area United Way continues to address both immediate needs and long-term solutions that help individuals and families thrive.

“As my first year as Events & Marketing Manager comes to a close, stepping into this role has been both humbling and rewarding,” said Rachel Norton, Events & Marketing Manager. “I am incredibly grateful to our board, volunteers, sponsors, and donors for making my first year such a success. Their trust and encouragement allowed us to grow our events, expand our outreach, and create meaningful impact across the community.”

Executive Director Kendra Sorensen emphasized the importance of community support.

“I extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who believed in and supported our work during a season marked by economic uncertainty,” said Sorensen. “Your generosity and commitment have made it possible to continue serving and strengthening communities across Marshall County when it was needed most.”

The MAUW extends its sincere thanks to every individual, organization and business that contributed to the campaign’s success. Together, these efforts ensure that vital services remain accessible and responsive to the evolving needs of the community.
