Sixteen of 25 Reimagine Miller construction contracts were approved by the Marshalltown Community School District Board of Education during Monday’s regular meeting.
The board had pre-approved the contracts on March 2. Boyd Jones Senior Project Manager Michael Martin spoke to the board virtually, stating that he will be attending in person at the April 6 meeting.
“There’s 16 contracts of the 25 we are recommending for approval,” he said. “These are the vendors that have responded back with signed contracts, and with all of the documentation, bonds, so forth ahead of this board meeting.”
Martin said yesterday’s action was seeking final signatures on the contracts. Board President Sean Heitmann asked if the contracts were the standard ones used by the Marshalltown Community School District (MCSD) in the past.
Martin told him that was correct and were A132 contracts prepared by Ahlers & Cooney, the district’s attorney.
“They were used on the early release bid packages,” he said.
Heitmann asked if the remaining nine contracts, which were pre-approved March 2, would be ready for finalization at the April 6 meeting.
“The plan is to have those, and last week we had a successful bid opening for the last two packages,” Martin said. “Randy [Denham] and I will work to get that on the next board meeting agenda.”
Martin directed them to the list of contracts presented to the board, starting with Lansink Construction to be paid $7.7 million for general trades.
