The Main Well opens in State Center

STATE CENTER — “Something for everyone.”
That’s how owner Jayme Wells describes what customers can expect at her new business, The Main Well, now open on Main Street in State Center.
So what exactly is that “something?” The shop offers a variety of Herbalife nutritional products, including shakes, coffees, teas (that don’t taste like tea), and wellness coaching. But Wells says the business aims to be more than just a place to grab a drink.
Supporting that mission is Stacia Vansice, another one of the shop’s Wellness Coaches. Vansice will also work with customers interested in lifestyle changes, focusing on improving nutrition and overall wellness. In the weeks ahead, Wells also plans to decorate one of the building’s walls with the motto, “You grow through what you go through.”
Wells, who lives in Newton, previously worked at First Avenue Nutrition for two years. During that time, she began considering opening her own store. That dream began to take shape after conversations with Vansice, a regular customer who lives on a farm south of Melbourne with her husband, Jordan, and their two children. The two began discussing where they might open a shop. Vansice eventually reached out to Sherry Bailey, owner of Bailey’s Pizza and Broasted Chicken, about possible locations along State Center’s Main Street. That conversation led them to the building at 102 E. Main St. (Former Liston’s Grocery Store, for those who remember).
After many hours of interior work, much of it completed by Wells’ husband, Justin, the shop was ready to open its doors on Thursday, March 5.
The name “The Main Well” has a simple meaning. “Main” refers to the shop’s location on Main Street, while “Well” reflects Wells’s last name and the idea of a water well, a source of nourishment, life, and refreshment. It implies a place people come to refill, recharge, and be nourished.
Outside of running the business, both women keep busy schedules. Wells is the mother of four children. Her oldest will graduate from college this spring, her two middle children are working full-time, and her youngest is homeschooled. She also coaches an AAU volleyball team and helps the youth group at her church.
Vansice also stays active in the community. Her daughter is currently studying to become a physical therapist, and her son will graduate from Baxter High School this spring. She works for the Baxter Community School District, serves as a prom sponsor, helps organize Baxter Fun Days, and teaches Sunday School. Another wellness coach you will find working at The Main Well will be Lainey Vander Schel. She graduated from Newton High School last year and loves to spend her time with family and friends or making signs when she is not working as a wellness coach.
Looking ahead, they hope to begin making deliveries around town, add Saturday hours, and continue expanding and updating their menu. Both women say they are excited to be part of the community and are grateful for the support they have already received.
“From day one, this community has supported us,” they said. “The State Center Main Street atmosphere is really what drew us here.”
As the neon sign on the shop’s newly painted walls proclaims, “Health is Your Wealth.”
Community members are encouraged to stop by and check out The Main Well.
