TOLEDO — The Iowa DOT’s construction for the future Toledo roundabout will start on Monday, April 6. Highway 63 will be closed from 2nd Avenue — also known as the Dollar Fresh turnoff — all the way past Kwik Star. According to the Iowa DOT’s map, they are planning a detour that has drivers taking a turn on 2nd Avenue between Fareway and the State Bank of Toledo going over to South Broadway by Car Quest, jumping on Highway 30 then heading down to the intersection by Hardees to get back on Highway 63 going north. According to the DOT website, this section will only be closed between April 6 and April 30.

Toledo Mayor Brian Sokol said he was informed that this is just the start of the project.

“I have been told the project will happen in four phases and is scheduled to take 130 working days. The first phase will be water and sewer relocation, followed by culvert installation,” he said.

Starting at $4.38/week.
