Juvenile driver damages vehicle, Memorial Wall in State Center
STATE CENTER – A juvenile driver was charged with a number of offenses and caused over $100,000 in damages to his vehicle and a Rose Garden Memorial Wall on Saturday evening, according to a social media post from the State Center Police Department.
“While a number of bad decisions led to this outcome, the use of seatbelts by occupants of the truck achieved the desired outcome – no loss of life,” the SCPD wrote. “Walls can be rebuilt, cars can be replaced. We are all lucky this driver’s behavior did not result in a loss of life.”
In a separate post, the SCPD noted that all bricks with names on the memorial wall had been collected and were set to be moved Monday morning for evaluation. The driver was charged with felony eluding, OWI, possession of a controlled substance and numerous traffic related offenses.
