Memorial Day weekend is always an eventful one in the small but mighty community of Beaman, but this past one was especially lively as extra events were planned around the city’s 150th birthday, including a parade on Saturday afternoon and a musical performance by the popular cover band Not Quite Brothers on Saturday night and an outdoor movie showing of “Field of Dreams” at Byron Rhodes Field on Sunday evening. The weekend continued with the traditional Memorial Day observances and baseball games on Monday.
