Early voting for the June 2 primary election is underway, and all absentee voting will be held at the Marshall County Election Center, located at 107 S 1st Ave. in Marshalltown.

In person absentee voting started Wednesday, May 13 and will end on June 1 at 4:30 p.m. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. The center is open on Saturday, May 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Races on the ballot include primaries for Marshall County Board of Supervisors seats, Marshall County Treasurer, Iowa House Districts 51 and 52, U.S. House District 4, U.S. Senate and governor of Iowa.

Voters must declare a party to participate in the primary election. The last day to request a ballot to be mailed is May 18 at 5 p.m. Request Forms must be in the office by the deadline to receive a ballot by mail.

Absentee ballots must be received by closing of the polls on Election Day at 8 p.m. to be counted.

Election Day is June 2. Voters must go to their polling place, not the Election Center, to vote.
