A Marshalltown man was arrested Friday over allegations that he made multiple unwanted sexual advances against a victim last week.
Gerald James Kremer, 78, was charged with assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, an aggravated misdemeanor. As of Monday afternoon, he was no longer listed as an inmate in the Marshall County Jail.
According to a criminal complaint, the offense occurred on June 16 at approximately 2:30 p.m. when Kremer “intentionally grabbed (the victim’s) hand and forced them to touch his groin over his clothing.”
A short while later, he allegedly grabbed the victim’s neck to pull them close to him, said he was “serious” and reminded the victim he was single.
“When asked about this interaction by police, Gerald recalled the incident and admitted that it was a “sexual advance,'” the complaint reads.
