Oktemberfest Committee announces Kevin Huseboe as 2026 Grand Marshal
Huseboe
The Oktemberfest Parade Committee is proud to announce Kevin Huseboe as the 2026 Oktoberfest Grand Marshal, recognizing his outstanding dedication to veterans, community service, and Marshall County.
A Marshall County native and Vietnam-era veteran, Huseboe has spent the last five years serving as Director of Marshall County Veteran Affairs following his retirement from Fisher Controls. During his tenure, he has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of local veterans and their families through advocacy, support services, and community engagement.
As Director, Huseboe led the effort to establish the Marshall County Veteran Memorial, securing both the site and funding within months. The overwhelming community support for the project inspired him, and the memorial was dedicated less than a year after fundraising was completed. He also helped champion the Military Banner Program, supported improvements at the Marshall County Freedom Rock, organized veteran food drives, partnered with numerous veteran organizations, and advocated for veterans at both the local and state levels.
His impact extends far beyond individual projects. During his time as Director, federal benefits received by veterans in Marshall County have doubled, generating an estimated $1.7 million in monthly economic impact. Through countless hours of service, Huseboe has helped veterans and their families navigate benefits, disability claims, and support programs, ensuring they receive the assistance they have earned through their service.
Community nominations consistently highlighted Huseboe’s unwavering commitment to veterans. Nominators described him as a tireless advocate who is available day and night to assist veterans, a compassionate leader who listens and responds to those in need, and a determined problem-solver who never stops until he finds answers. Many praised his ability to bring people together, his willingness to volunteer for community projects and events, and his dedication to ensuring veterans are recognized, honored, and supported throughout Marshall County. Several noted that Huseboe’s leadership has strengthened the local veterans community while increasing awareness and appreciation for those who have served.
As Huseboe prepares to retire from his role in December 2026, the Oktemberfest Committee is honored to recognize his years of service and lasting contributions to Marshall County. His dedication, leadership, and advocacy embody the values of community, service, pride, and connection that Oktemberfest celebrates each year.
Please join us in congratulating Kevin Huseboe as the 2026 Oktemberfest Grand Marshal and celebrating his remarkable contributions to veterans and the Marshall County community.
