Marshalltown man charged with felony sexual abuse

A rural Marshalltown man has been charged with second degree sexual abuse by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly touching a minor victim inappropriately on June 5.
According to a criminal complaint, Julio Ramirez Perez, 32, touched and rubbed the victim’s “private area” with his hand over the victim’s clothing. Ramirez Perez was arrested on Tuesday, and he is in custody at the Marshall County Jail “without the possibility of release” until a preliminary hearing on Friday, July 31 at 9:30 a.m.
Court records indicate that on the day of the alleged incident, June 5, Ramirez Perez was also charged with four counts of child endangerment, one count of domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness, and one count of assault with intent to cause injury. All of those cases remain pending.
