Two injured in UTV crash near Rhodes

RHODES — Two people were injured and airlifted to Des Moines area hospitals after a UTV crash outside of Rhodes in southwestern Marshall County on Saturday evening.
According to a press release from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Marshall County Communications Center received a report of a UTV (side by side) rollover crash with injuries on private property southwest of Rhodes at 6:27 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies and EMS personnel were able to locate the patients with the assistance of bystanders who witnessed the crash.
Both occupants of the UTV were taken by air ambulances to Des Moines area hospitals for the treatment of serious injuries, and the names of those involved have not been publicly released as the crash remains under investigation. MCSO deputies were assisted at the scene by Life Flight helicopters, the Melbourne Fire Department, Melbourne/Rhodes EMS, State Center EMS, the State Center Police Department, and UnityPoint Ambulance.
