Josh Tack, the junior and senior high school principal for the BCLUW Community School District, has died as the result of injuries he suffered in a collision between a UTV and a car on Saturday night.
According to information provided by the Dubuque County Sheriff's Office, first responders came to the scene of the crash at East Worthington Road and Comer Road around 9:21 p.m., and a 10-year-old juvenile was declared deceased at the scene. Tack, 33, of Union, later died at Mercy One Hospital in Dubuque, and five others were hospitalized with "serious to life-threatening" injuries.
The official BCLUW Facebook page shared a statement on Tack's passing Monday morning.
"It is with great sadness that we share the news that Josh Tack, Jr/Sr High School Principal, passed away from injuries sustained in an accident this weekend," it read. "Please keep his wife Blake, their children and family, along with the entire BCLUW community, in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."
Tack, who started his job at BCLUW in the fall of 2023, grew up in Hudson before attending Central College and finishing his master's degree in administration through Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wis.
