Deputies respond to crashes near State Center, Green Mountain Monday

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) responded to a pair of accidents involving commercial vehicles on Monday, one along Highway 30 near State Center in the morning and another at the intersection of Garwin Road and Zeller Avenue near Green Mountain in the afternoon.
At approximately 8:42 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Durham Avenue for a report of a multi-vehicle crash involving a tanker truck and pickup, according to Sheriff Joel Phillips. The driver of the pickup who sustained injuries as a result of the crash was unresponsive at the scene and was transported to UnityPoint Health Hospital for advance care. The driver of the tanker truck did not report any injuries.
Names of the persons involved in this crash are not being released at this time. Additional information will be provided at a later time as the investigation continues. The MCSO was assisted by State Center Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, Unity Point Heath-Marshalltown Ambulance, State Center Fire Department and First Responders.
Phillips told the T-R the Garwin Road crash was a single vehicle semi rollover with unknown injuries to the driver.
