A Marshalltown man was arrested Friday on a total of 10 felony charges, including four Class B felonies, over allegations that he continuously sexually abused two children – in one instance, beginning in 2016 and in the other, beginning in 2017 – up until the present.

Victor Scott Tesdahl, age 55, is already a registered sex offender over a conviction from another state and an offense -- indecency with a child sexual contact -- that occurred in 1993 when he was 22 years old.

According to a series of criminal complaints, two victims alleged that Tesdahl began abusing them -- for the first victim, it began at the age of four or five, and for the other, at the age of five or six -- and it has continued over the last decade, including a recent incident during which he allegedly showed one of the victims pornography on his cell phone as a means of demonstrating how to perform a sex act.

Tesdahl is being held in the Marshall County Jail without bond, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 11 at 9:30 a.m. He is charged with a total of 10 counts: two counts of sexual abuse -- continuous sexual abuse of a child and two counts of second degree sexual abuse, all Class B felonies, two counts of lascivious acts with a child -- fondle or touch and one count third degree sexual abuse, all Class C felonies, and one count of grooming and two counts of incest, all Class D felonies. Tesdahl has denied committing the acts, according to the police report.
