Thousands of visitors gathered at the Sheriff’s Office/Jail property between Marshalltown and State Center over the weekend for the 42nd annual Mid-Iowa Antique Power Association (MIAPA) Steam Threshing and Plowing Show, an event that highlights the rich history of agriculture in the state and serves as a celebration of all things old-fashioned, from engines and farm machinery to homemade ice cream and the YL-37 Vietnam era helicopter, which arrived on Saturday morning at about 10 a.m.
