A pair of Marshalltown man have been charged with a host of felonies including attempted murder after an investigation into a possible drive-by shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in the 300 block of North 14th Avenue.
According to a press release from the Marshalltown Police Department (MPD), no one was injured in the shooting, and the suspects were not immediately located by officers and fled the area. As the investigation continued, two persons of interest were developed, and the following day, both were identified at a local bar and detained for further questioning.
After search warrants were obtained and executed, 20-year-old Tyree Letrell Rudolph of Marshalltown was charged with two counts of attempted murder, each a Class B felony, two counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon and one count of tampering with a witness, each a Class C felony, two counts of assault while participating in a felony and one count of going armed with intent, each a Class D felony, and reckless use of a firearm, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Additionally, Jeremiah James McMullen, 21, of Marshalltown, was charged with all of the same offenses as Rudolph plus dominion/control of a firearm by a prohibited person, a Class D felony.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the MPD. The MPD was assisted by the Marshall County Communications Center. Both men are currently being held at the Marshall County Jail on a $25,000 cash or surety bond for the attempted murder charges and $300 each for interference with official acts.
