The annual Pioneer Days celebration returned to Le Grand on Saturday with a full slate of events beginning bright and early with a 5k run at 7:45 a.m., and the centerpiece of the day was the parade at 11 a.m. led by Marshall County Sheriff's Office Deputy Tanner Hunt, the Marshalltown Combined Honor Guard and Grand Marshal Linda Weitzell, featuring local civic organizations, businesses and even political candidates. The activities continued throughout the rest of the day around the city park area with a K-9 demonstration, Meskwaki dancing, live music and a wide range of vendors.
