CLEMONS -- A McCallsburg woman has died after a collision with a teenage driver in rural Marshall County near Clemons on Friday afternoon, according to local law enforcement.
Sheriff Joel Philips said the crash occurred at 4:07 p.m. in the 1800 mile of Eastman Avenue, and drivers from both vehicles were transported by ambulance for further medical care. Lindsey Daleske, 41, of McCallsburg passed away as a result of her injuries, and the driver and passenger in the other vehicle are both minors whose names are not being released.
The Iowa State Patrol is conducting a technical investigation into the accident. According to the preliminary report, the juvenile driver was traveling southbound and went to pass other vehicles in a no-passing zone, hitting Daleske, who was traveling northbound. The minor driver sustained "life-threatening injuries" as a result of the crash. The Iowa State Patrol, State Center Police Department, State Center Fire and EMS, Marshall County Sheriff's Office, UnityPoint EMS and Marshalltown Fire Department all responded to the incident.
