Born, March 5, 1926, to John and Mary (Beebe) Shalley in Marshalltown, Iowa, she attended and graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1944. On June 27, 1948, she married Eugene “Sug” Wolf in Marshalltown. They later divorced. On Nov 21, 1964, she married Fritz C. Rose in Omaha, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1970.

She lived in Marshalltown most of her life, working as a bookkeeper for Swifts of Marshalltown, retiring in 1988. She maintained a childhood friendship with Shirley Boyer Tarrence, throughout her life and with Fritz she could be seen bowling in multiple leagues. She enjoyed her many trips to New York City with Janice Thorne, friend, and witness to her marriage to Fritz.

She was preceded in death by her infant sister Margaret Jean, parents, and sister Dorothy Buchwald in 2016. She leaves behind niece Rachelle Lewis and husband Reggie, nephew Randy Buchwald and wife Peggy, grandnephew Sean Lewis and great grandniece Emmah Lewis, extended family, Billy, Lindsey and Leo Rolison, Emma and Julian Moore, niece Pam Elliott, nephews Eric, Fred and Rod Rose and their families.
