Byron F. “Pat” McKelvey, 90, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 9, 2018, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 9, 2018, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Interment will be at Clemons Cemetery in Clemons, IA. Byron F. “Pat” McKelvey was born December 20, 1927, in Clemons, the son of Harry B. and Marianne J. (O’Dell) McKelvey. He graduated from the Clemons High School in Clemons. Pat served in the Air Force and after completing his service, he was employed by the Lennox Corp. and briefly owned his own business, 4 Seasons Heating & Cooling. After Pat retired, he briefly worked for Ron Fisher Furniture Makers. He lived with his companion, Virginia, on her family farm, mowing grass, planting flowers and working in his woodshop, accompanied by his dog, Todd.
Pat is survived by his daughter, Kathleen (James) Goss, of Oxford, PA; his grandson, W. Brian (Cindy) Goss, of Oxford, PA; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Wayne; his sisters, Kathleen and Marguerite; and his very special companion, Virginia Logsdon.
