Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Caryle Jean Peak was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, on December 26, 1945; she was the daughter of Darrell and Viona (Stier) Peak. She attended school in the Marshalltown Community School District. On January 3, 1964, Caryle was united in marriage to LeRoy Smith in Marshalltown a place they called home their entire married lives. She had worked at the Dry Cleaners and Heinz Hall at the Iowa Veterans Home. As a youth she was in Cradle Roll at the Salvation Army. Jean enjoyed crocheting, sewing, loved to cook and she was an awesome cook, but the thing she enjoyed most was her family.

Left to cherish Jean’s memory is her husband of 54, years, LeRoy; children: Robert (Monica) Smith, Jarred Smith and Eric Smith, all of Marshalltown, Iowa; grandchildren: Lucas and Hope Smith, both of Gillette, Wyoming; siblings: Terry (Sharon) Peak, of Texas, and Tim Peak, of North Liberty, Iowa, and her best friend/ sister, Shirley Bown.

In death Jean rejoins her parents, Darrell and Viona and brother, Mike Peak.
