Kathleen Ann Zeuthen (Giannetto), 75, formally of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the Mercy Hospice House in Johnston surrounded by her family. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshalltown at 11:00 a.m. with a public visitation held from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Kathy was born in San Diego, California, on April 14, 1943, to the proud parents of Nick and Helen (Brent) Giannetto. She attended Northern Arizona University and received a Master’s Degree of Education. She taught English as a second language for 16 years, teaching kindergarten through eighth grade. Before her teaching, she was a travel agent and owned Travel Agents International in Marshalltown for many years. She was a traveler spending time in Chicago, Phoenix, Marshalltown and Ankeny while residing in New Orleans. She was always willing to accept any challenge and was led by her gift of creativity. Her family was everything to her, even as her children grew up and made their own lives, she would always take time to visit and stay in touch with them. She touched many lives in her years and will be missed by her family and countless friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Tom (Holly) Zeuthen, of Ankeny, Iowa, and Eric (Lynn Ackerman) Zeuthen, of Lisle, Illinois; grandchildren: Drake, Logynn and Evan Zeuthen; siblings: Gloria (Dave) Hines, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and their children Julie, Mark, Shannon, Kristen; Nick (Dottie) Giannetto, of Ankeny, Iowa, and her beloved dog Bailey who was considered a third child.
She is preceded in death by her parents Nick and Helen and many aunts and uncles.
