LaVerne Freese, 83
Funeral services for LaVerne Freese, 83, of Marshalltown, formerly of State Center, were held April 24, 2018, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in State Center, Iowa, where Father Rick Dagit officiated. He was laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery, State Center, with full military honors, which were provided by the Combined VFW/American Legion Honor Guard.
Pallbearers were Ben Wertzberger, Christopher Wertzberger, Nowlan Freese, Warren Freese, Graham Carroll and Ethan Wertzberger.
Honorary pallbearers were Brittany Splittgerber, Jenna Sharer, Rachel Henderson, Caroline Freese, Emma Carroll, Claire Hardesty, Adam Hardesty, Owen Hardesty, Paige Wertzberger and Henry Splittgerber.
Groups in attendance included St. Joseph Catholic Church and Iowa River Hospice, among others.
Mitchell Family Funeral Home was entrusted with the care of LaVerne and his family.
