She was born April 24, 1921, in Mason City, IA, the daughter of Carl and Frieda (Boettcher) Lehman. She married Clarence L. Devine on August 12, 1944, in Muskogee, OK. He died in November of 2001.

She graduated from Algona High School in 1939 and Iowa State Teachers College in 1944. She taught in several schools in Iowa prior to starting her family.

Survived by: a son, Brian (Kathy) Devine, of Cedar Falls; grandchildren, Maggie (Brandon) Winterton, of Gaeta, Italy, and Mickey Devine, of Cedar Falls; and great grandson, Oliver Winterton, of Gaeta, Italy.
