Judith Campbell Olney, 75

Judith Campbell Olney, 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Kingsport, Tennessee, on June 19, 2018, after a courageous 20-month battle with glioblastoma.
She was born in Laurel, Iowa, January 23, 1943, and received her nursing degrees at St. Lukes Nursing School and at the University of Iowa. She settled with her husband and family in Kingsport, Tennessee, in 1978.
She was an energetic volunteer in several community organizations, known for her ebullient personality and infectious laugh. She loved collecting antiques, gardening and sewing. In later years she greatly enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends.
She leaves her husband of 50 years, Laverne; son Chris and wife Kristi; daughter Stacey and husband Mark Leeson and grandchildren Ian, Elyse, Olivia, Nicholas, Campbell and Amelia. Also surviving are five brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Goldie (Foreman) Campbell, sister Carol and brother Gerald.
The family expresses sincere appreciation to Dr. Ken Smith and Dr. Edwin McElroy, of Kingsport and to Dr. Margaret Johnson, of Duke University, for their diligent care.
A visitation with the family will be held at her home on Saturday, June 23, 3-6 PM, 2729 Berkshire Lane. Services and scattering of ashes will be private at a later date in Iowa. Memorial donations may be made to the The Tisch Brain Tumor Center, Duke University MC 3624, Durham, NC, 27710.
