Irmgard M. Moeller, 93

Irmgard M. Moeller, 93, of Conrad, IA, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at her residence. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the First Presbyterian Church in Conrad. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2018, at the church. Irmgard Margarete Klemm was born May 18, 1925, the daughter of Gerhard and Margarete (Quandt) Klemm, in Furstenwalden\Spree, Germany. She graduated from high school in Germany. Irmgard met the love of her life during World War II in Germany. She came to the United States in 1948 to be united in marriage to Gilbert “Gib” Moeller in 1948 and was the first German World War II Bride in Grundy County. Irmgard became an American Citizen in 1955. To this union, five children were born: Barbara S., David D., Tom L., Rick D., and Patricia A. Irmgard was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Conrad and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was employed at Marshalltown Manufacturing in Marshalltown, IA, and after retirement, worked in the kitchen at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. Irmgard enjoyed trips to the casino with her friends.

Irmgard is survived by their five children: Barbara S. (Mervin) Stensland, of Grundy Center, IA, David D. (Linda) Moeller, of White City, KS, Tom L. (Amy) Moeller, of Marshalltown, IA, Rick D. (Beth) Moeller, of Conrad, Patricia A. (Douglas) Schmidt, of Clarksville, IA; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; along with a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Irmgard was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert “Gib”; her parents; her brother, Gunter Klemm; and one grandson, Joel D. Kuehl.
