Melissa J. Edwards was born on June 16, 1967, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Jean (Tasler) Woolf. She was raised and educated in the Marshall County School District, where she graduated from Marshalltown High School. Melissa was blessed with three wonderful sons: Brandon, Brad and Jack. She would make sure those three boys had everything and anything they needed to be successful in life. Melissa was a very dedicated woman in all that she did. She worked at JBS for many years, working her way up to become a supervisor. Most recently, Melissa was employed at R.E.M. She always had a heart of gold and would share that special love she carried with anyone and everyone. Melissa had a passion for Mickey Mouse, crafts, watching football (especially the Niners), sharing her compassion with others and most important was her family. Melissa cherished every moment that she got to spend with her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Brandon (Kayla) Edwards, Brad Edwards and Jack Edwards; mother, Jean Woolf; grandchildren: Riley, Dominic, Brayden, Dejan, Skylar, Venessa and Jace; siblings, Glen Tasler and Beth Weatherly; close friend: Keisha Hinkle; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Carl Tasler and her grandparents.
