Nancy Jean Gowdy was born on August 13, 1956, to parents Robert and Shirley (Moar) Gowdy in Marshalltown, Iowa. She attended school in Melbourne, Iowa, before transferring to West Marshall where she graduated in the class of 1974. She then furthered her education and attended LPN school where she then made a career as a nurse. Another of her greatest achievements were raising her 2 wonderful sons Shannon and Cory. In her free time, you might see her watching Iowa Hawkeye and Cyclone football and basketball, listening to music and watching movies. She was one who was a simple soul and enjoyed just being home with family and relaxing.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Shannon (and his wife Diana) Browning and Cory (and his wife Alex) Browning; grandchildren: Atticus Clark-Hare and Santiago Browning; her brothers: Michael (Jeanne) Gowdy, Philip (Jane) Gowdy, Robert Kent Gowdy and Bruce Gowdy; her mother, Shirley Adams; her aunt Myrtle Albrecht; many nieces, nephews and cousins and her good friend, Dennis Paxson.

In death, Nancy rejoins her father, Robert Gowdy; both sets of paternal and maternal grandparents; her brother, Gregory Gowdy and her step father, Armon Adams.
