Funeral services for Mary L. Vellinga, 87, were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2019, at the First Congregational Church, Marshalltown, IA. Rev. Greg Ellcey officiated the service with special music performed by organist Gary Heggen and vocalist Lynn Maas singing “In the Garden.” The congregation joined in singing “It is Well With my Soul.”
Casket bearers were Dan Vellinga, Lane Vellinga, Brent Vellinga, Brian Burke, Ben Patron, Erik Ostby and Mike Stevens.
Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown, IA.
Groups in attendance included staff and residents from Glenwood Place and staff from Iowa River Hospice.
