Darlene Lea Maytag, 84, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Cremation rites were accorded. Darlene was born May 23, 1935, to Henry and Vera (Johns) Schultz in Marshalltown. She attended the Marshalltown schools. Darlene was united in marriage to Paul Maytag on July 25, 1957, in Marshalltown. She was employed as a salesperson for Woolworth’s and Spurgeon’s. Darlene was a member of the YWCA Hobby Craft Club enjoying their weekly get-togethers to make craft items. She was also a member of the Central Ornithologist Club. Darlene loved playing cards. She loved life and enjoyed bird watching with her husband. Darlene was a caring and loving person; she enjoyed giving to help others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Darlene will be missed by her husband, Paul; three cousins, Pat Morgan, Butch Simpson, Karen Borton; sister-in-law Joann Maytag. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Robert, twin brother Donald; three sisters, Shirley, Marilyn, and Bonnie. She was also preceded in death by niece Mary Lou (Medberry) Hall; nephews James Medberry and Harry Eggers.
