Ron was born in Pleasantville, IA, on November 3, 1926, to Lynn and Emily (Haworth) Wilson, and the family moved to Marshalltown in 1935. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1945 and served our country with the US Army Engineering Company in Italy from 1945-1947. He then joined his father and brother at Wilson’s Super Service.

Ron was united in marriage to Dorothy Bartine on September 25, 1949. He operated service stations in Marshalltown for 15 years and was owner/operator of Bee Line Alignment Service for 20 years, retiring in 1985. Everyone he met became a friend.

Ron was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a former member of First Baptist Church where he served on the Building Committee and a number of other boards. He was also a member of the National Woodcarvers Association.

He loved vacations with his family, working with stained glass, wood carving and taking long walks with his wife. He always had a story to tell and the ability to make people smile.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown.

Ron is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy, of Marshalltown, his daughters: Sr. Julian (Marilyn) Wilson, of Wilmington, DE, and Beth (Ron) Zitzow, of Muscatine, IA and his granddaughters Kathryn Zitzow and Rebecca Zitzow, of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ilene (Carl) Sapp, of California and Ferne (Mike) Long and a brother Ardean.
