Ursula Haack, 78, of Gladbrook, IA passed away Monday, October 26, 2020, at Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo, IA. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Maple Hill Cemetery in rural Gladbrook. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 30, 2020, at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice. Ursula was born October 20, 1942, one of eight children to Alfred and Melittle (Huth) Herm in Darmstadt, Germany. She grew up in Germany. Ursula worked cleaning houses and four years at Campry Military Base. She married Dick State after coming to the U.S. in 1965. They later divorced. Ursula was employed as a nurses aid at Harmony House in Waterloo as well at the Care Center in Traer. She married Dennis Haack in 1977, making their home on the Haack family farm for 43 years. Ursula was well known for helping many older residents in the neighborhood. She loved her dogs, crocheting, cooking, traveling to the Amana Colonies and the Botanical Center in Des Moines.
Ursula will be missed by her husband, Dennis; two sisters: Waltraud Schramm, of Germany, Ilse (Ron) Kubik, of Traer; a nephew, Darrin (Teri) Kubik, and a niece, Michelle Kubik.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, and two brothers.
