Per the wishes of Judy and her family, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no formal service at this time. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Judy was born on February 18, 1939, in San Francisco, CA to parents Clarence and Mary (Novacek) Blackstone. She was united in marriage to Ronald “Ron” Smith on June 27, 1965, in California. In 1970, they decided to move to Iowa to raise their two beautiful daughters. She was an excellent homemaker while the girls were young and went on to work at Walmart for over 18 years. Judy was an avid reader and loved to crochet, knit and do crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Ron; her daughters: Susanne Anderson, of Marshalltown and Diane Smith, of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren: Kyle (Sarah) Smith, Allese Brooks and Luke Anderson; great grandchildren: Isaac Smith and Asher Smith and her sister, Linda Blackstone, of Oelwein.

In death, Judy is reunited with her parents, Clarence and Mary.
