Funeral services for Diane will take place on at Mitchell Family Funeral Home on Monday, May 17 at 11:00 A.M. She will be laid to rest at Benson Cemetery in Whitten, Iowa following the service. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 16 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Born Diane Kay Parrish on January 20, 1943 in Eldora, Iowa, she was the daughter of Stanley and Nora “Jess” (Baker) Parrish. She attended school in Eldora, Marshalltown and State Center. Diane’s first marriage blessed her with her five children. On December 27, 1969, Diane was united in marriage to Dale Franksain in Denver, Colorado. They made Denver their home for the next five years, together raising her children. In 1974, they moved to State Center, Iowa and in 1980, they moved to Marshalltown, where they made their forever home. Diane worked at Emerson-Fisher Controls as an assembler, taking early retirement in 1991 to spend more time with her husband and to travel. She loved to go camping, boating and traveling. Her most memorable trip was a “Hawaii Three Island Holiday” in 2007, where she visited the islands of Oahu, Kauai and Maui.

In her free time, Diane enjoyed reading, watching movies and spending time with friends and family. Faith was very important to Diane and she was a member of Journey Church in Marshalltown. She was also a member of the American Legion #46 in Marshalltown, T.O.P.S. and The Red Hat Society’s “Scarlet Babes.”

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Craig Eurom (Kathy Luethje) and Rodney Eurom; her grandchildren: Jennifer (Tony) Harrison, Kayleen (Jeremy) Simpson, Adam Decker, Andrew Decker, Jeremiah Eurom, Chantel (Zach) Faught, Brittney Franksain, Jessica (Nick) Wheeler, Derek VanDeWalle, and Jared VanDeWalle; eleven great-grandchildren, her brother, Les (Carla) Franksain of Denver, CO and her sister-in-law, Donna Parrish of Rockford, IL.

In death, Diane is reunited with her beloved husband of 49 years, Dale; three children: Terry Eurom, Justina “Tina” Franksain and Melissa “Lisa” VanDeWalle; grandson Travis VanDeWalle; her father, Stanley Parrish; her mother, Nora “Jess” (Lloyd) Franksain and her siblings: Thomas Parrish, Carol (Jim) Stelpflug and Carl (Sharon) Myers.
