Janet Stubbs, 77
Janet Stubbs, 77, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be 10:30 am., Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Anderson Funerals Homes in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., until the time of the services at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Green Mountain Cemetery in Green Mountain, IA. Memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com.
Janet was born April 14, 1944 to William and Leola Dittman in Muscatine, IA. She graduated from Muscatine High School and received her teaching certificate from the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, IA. Janet was united in marriage to Leonard R. Stubbs on June 22, 1969 in Muscatine. She taught school in LeGrand, IA until her boys were born. Janet stayed home to raise her boys and then returned to teaching at the Math Center at Marshalltown High School. She later taught at Marshalltown Community College. Janet volunteered at Meals on Wheels and was the co-treasurer. She enjoyed cross stitching. Janet was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Janet will be missed by her two sons; Doug (Seeta Mangra-Stubbs) Stubbs of DesMoines, IA, Tim Stubbs of Waverly, IA, a sister, Carolyn Dittman of Muscatine, and several nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Leonard.
